Burger a la King

No comments:

What's that? You want a burger Elvis would enjoy? Well then you've come to the right place! Peanut butter, bananas, and most importantly bacon make a surprising appearance on top of this monster of a burger.

This was prepared as part of Denny's and Foodbuzz BACONALIA challenge and is an entry for a chance to win.

A burger fit only for a King. It's good to be The King.

Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

I love a soft, chewy cookie. Something about hard, crunchy cookies is a big turn off in most cases. Bleh!

So these cookies are perfect because I also love peanut butter. A soft, light, chewy peanut butter cookie is just what the day needs sometimes to end just right.

Omitting the chocolate does not diminish how delicious these are. In fact, I think they might be even better without it, though some chocolate fiends might disagree.

And the size is perfect. Small enough to get the full effect without feeling like you're gorging on cookies. So sometimes two is even ok!

Honey Wheat Sandwich Bread

Another day, another wonderful homemade bread. This one is even better than our other favorite, the Whole Wheat and Oatmeal Bread.

This difference isn't so much in the taste. It's in the texture, the softness of the bread (perfect for sandwiches and toast alike), and in the rise.

So fire up that oven, and get ready to enjoy some delicious bread made in your very own home in no time. You can't beat the smell of bread baking!

Juicy Garlic Roasted Chicken

No comments:

I really enjoyed making the Black Turkey a couple months ago, but it takes so long! Luckily, there's this smaller fowl called a chicken.

This chicken is so so juicy and so so tender. It practically falls right off the bone. If you wanted to cut down on the buttery spread, you could, but remember that that is what is keeping it moist more than anything.

And it's so simple! So few ingredients, so little time and effort on your part. Just for fun I threw in some veggies to roast and catch the juices underneath. Cutting all those up definitely took the most time.

I mean when you're cooking for two people most of the time, a giant turkey lasts a while! Heck, a whole chicken lasts for a couple meals too, but we love leftovers. Yes we do!

Peanut Butter Banana Bread

No comments:

Love peanut butter and banana sandwiches? Of course you do! Want it all in a slice of bread? Of course you do! It's so good with a little extra peanut butter spread on.

One of the great things about this quick bread is that the subtle hints of peanut butter and banana develop over time as well. I'd say it's best around day 2-4, but day 1 is downright delicious too. The banana comes out stronger on day 1, so if you want a really peanutty bread, up the PB. Enjoy!
